7 Man Made Wonders Of The World Checked Off !!!!!

Machu Picchu (Peru)

Almost four and a half hours to reach this point of my trip in Peru. That travel includes; a flight from Lima to Cusco, a car ride from Cusco to the train station, a train ride to the small town of Aguas Calientes and a short bus ride to the entrance of Machu Picchu. This entire journey was draining but it was all worth it in the end because I got a chance to experience some of the most spectacular views I have ever seen.

Taj Mahal (Agra, India)

New Delhi is a very congested city with tons of people that seem like they are always on the go. It was such a treat to get away from all the congestion and take a 3 hour drive to Agra, which is home to the beautiful Taj Mahal. This marble mausoleum was built to house a tomb that contained the wife of a Mughal emperor. Trust me when I say that this is a must see when visiting India.

Chichen Itza (Yucatan, Mexico)

91 steps on each side of this amazing Mayan pyramid adds up to 364, with a platform at the very top makes it a grand total of 365. As you may know this number is equivalent to the amount of days in a year, which means this ancient masterpiece was used as a calendar. If it’s one thing that I learned on my trip to Mexico, it’s that the Mayan people were way ahead of their time and to think all of this was created without the use of any technology.

Al-Khazneh (The Treasury) (Petra, Jordan)

In my opinion, out of all the seven wonders this had to be the toughest to get to. I say this because, I initially started my trip in Israel but the tour that I purchased consisted of a domestic flight to Eilat,Israel, crossing the boarder into Jordan and taking a 2 hour bus ride to Petra.  It was such a long and exhausting day but it was well worth the trip. Once we reached the site, the first thought that popped into my head was Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.

Great Wall of China (Beijing, China)

Imagine a man made wall that spans over 5,000 miles long and takes more then a year to walk. Facts like this that make the Great Wall of China so unique. Even though I only explored about a quarter mile stretch of this man made 7th wonder, I still had an amazing and informative experience. Who knows maybe one day I might go back and take on the challenge of walking the entire wall.

Christ the Redeemer (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)

The Christ Redeemer is strategically placed on the top of Corcovado Mountain, with an amazing view of Rio. This man made 7th wonder is very easy to access and it will only cost you about R$43 ($11 USD). In my opinion, the best feature about this statue is when the lights shine on it at night and gives off the appearance that Christ is floating over the city.

Colosseum (Rome, Italy)

Italy in itself is such a romantic and beautiful place to visit. It was such a treat to get a chance to explore the inside of the Colosseum. To think that thousands of years ago so many different events took place within those walls, it was almost surreal getting the chance to see everything in person. The best part about this trip was that this was my very first man made 7th wonder checked off and I knew from here that I had to see the rest of them.
