I always try to set some type of travel goal just to keep things interesting. Since my 29th birthday was coming up I decided to treat myself. I choose to embark on an adventure through Europe. The destinations that made the list were; Denmark, Sweden, Hungary and Germany. Its clear that Europe is no stranger to me, but I had to see if the hype was true about Scandinavia & Central Europe. One thing is for sure, these destinations did not disappoint. Let’s just say I plan to do this trip again during the summer time.
During my time in Sweden I happened to find this gigantic mall that I spotted while on the train, so of course you know I had to check it out. The mall has over 200+ stores which makes it the second largest mall in the Nordic countries. I honestly lost track of time while exploring the mall and before I knew it 4 hours had passed by. I highly recommend checking out the mall if you are in the area.
Sweden is also know for its amazing nightlife, so of course I had to put that to the test. On the night of my birthday I found this really nice bar called “Oxid Bar” it was full to capacity and had good priced drinks. I danced the night away till about 3am. Great times.
One of my main goals I have when I’m on a trip, is to find the best view and I have to say that I found a winner with this one. This picture was taken at the Budapest History Museum. It was the perfect shot because the museum sits on the top of a hill overlooking the beautiful city. I highly recommend that you put this on your priority list of places to check out.
Also, another vantage point of the city is located a few mins away at Gellért Hill which is about 770 ft high and the walkway to reach the top is a bit curvy and steep. I highly suggest that you take the nice walk up here when its a bit cooler in the day and if you are a wine connoisseur you should bring a bottle and find a nice seat to enjoy the view of the city at the top.
The last stop on the tour was Munich, Germany and it was a great way to end off a trip. If you know me, then you know that I love to use the Hop on Hop off bus and Munich had some great sights to see. One of the first stops we made, was the famous Nymphenburg Palace which was used as a summer residence for the former rulers of Bavaria. Its such a large residence that sits on a massive amount of land.
Another amazing stop was Marienplatz. This colorful plaza has been Munich’s main square since 1158 and if that’s not history then I don’t know what is. This is a very large area with tons of activities. Of course you have your typical shops around, but you can also enjoy some of the local music and food with great company.
